I make knives because I like making knives. That's the most important thing you need to know about me.

Apart from knives, I am also an industrial machine designer, which means that my knives are often first designed in engineering software and technically analyzed, and only then forged into steel.

When making a knife, I use the nerd, craftsman and enthusiast mode of a good blade. In the first mode, I think about how the knife will be used and for this I choose the most optimal steel, hardness and geometry of the blade, based on appropriate charts and studies. Then, in the craftsman mode, I talk to the steel with tenderness, why it allows itself to be smoothly ground. In the third mode, I often test the knife and how theoretical assumptions are translated into practice. And finally, I struggle with parting (although fortunately we do not always part).
