Heavy combat knife, inspired by the famous KA-bar knives.
The USMC Ka-Bar knife is legendary. It is one of the favorite knives of the US military. In addition to being a proven design, it looks great and feels great in the hand.
I always wanted to have such a knife, but I was tormented by the question: "what if it was full tang...?" - and that's how the KAT was created, whose blade profile is a bowie
The KAT knife is a reliable assistant for the soldier. It is a heavy knife with a sharp blade and a hardened heavy breaker. The blade offers excellent cutting quality, the tip together with the false blade excellent target penetration and the breaker effective devastation like a heavy hammer. Hand-made by RUNY.
🔹 D2 Steel – Field-proven semi-stainless tool steel
The knife blade is made of high quality semi-stainless steel D2, hardened and tempered to a hardness of 60-61HRC. The steel is characterized by:
✔ Long-lasting sharpness thanks to the high content of chromium carbides
✔ Medium resistance to moisture. The steel should not corrode from moisture in the air and everyday use in dry materials, but after leaving the knife wet for a long time, especially after acidic substances such as lemon, tomato, or horseradish, the knife will start to corrode. Corrosion can be easily wiped off and will leave a patina, which for some users is an advantage because the knife is "alive" in a sense and changes its appearance over time. The Acid stonewashed finish gives a unique look, thanks to which any scratches that may have occurred during use will be masked, and the patina resulting from corrosion will blend nicely with the dark finish of the blade.
🔹 Handle made of durable G10 composite
The ergonomic G10 composite handle provides a secure and comfortable grip. It is resistant to moisture, changing weather conditions and mechanical damage, making the knife an ideal choice for use in difficult conditions.
🔹 Hardened steel guard
A single-sided guard that prevents the hand from moving onto the blade but allows the thumb to be held on the spine of the knife, which is used in many knife working techniques.
🔹 Hardened Steel Hammer
The knife handle ends with a D2 steel striker hardened to 51-55 HRC. The striker is screwed in with a thread and secured with a good epoxy glue. The striker is heavy and the knife is balanced on the handle.
🔹 Leather sheath – comfort and safety
The set includes a sturdy leather sheath that allows for safe storage and easy transport and carrying of the knife.
